Artist in Muskoka - Janice Feist
Muskoka has been my home for over 30 years, constantly inspiring me with its beauty and ruggedness. It is a magical place, an artist's treasure.
Painting has become my way of life; the opportunity to create in this ideal location in Muskoka is constantly inspiring, changing and challenging. With tall pines, rolling fields, pink granite and thriving wildlife, there is an abundance of inspiration all around.
My work continues to develop as I paint from different points of view, whether it be representational, impressionistic or abstracted. The joy in expressing myself in so many ways is evident in each piece. My heart will always be pulled to colours and textures, whatever the subject is. I use a variety of tools, however my favourite one is a palette knife, scratching, scraping and smoothing paint to create depth and excitement.
Jfeist studio overlooks a beautiful rolling field and is embraced by granite outcroppings and forest. Come down the quiet driveway and breathe it in!
